Baroness Jenny Tonge - Patron

I was delighted to become the patron of MiST and hope I am going to be of some use, with contacts at Westminster. The team have done great things already, especially in overcoming the difficulties of getting into Gaza.
We have benefited from doctors and nurses coming over here to work in the NHS, when we were short staffed, and we should do something in return.
MiST is a better response than simply sending aid from the Department of Inter-national Development. Congratulations to everyone involved for the inspiration and hard work!"
Jenny trained to be a doctor at University College Hospital, gaining an MB and BS. She has worked in General Practice and Family Planning and also as Senior Medical Officer in Women's Services. She managed Community Health Services in Ealing from 1992 to 1996. She was a Member of Parliament for Richmond Park from 1997 to 2005. While in the Commons she was Liberal Democrat spokesman on International Development. During November 2008, Tonge, along with other politicians, broke through the Blockade of Gaza by boat.
